The North End

Video Tour

When you think of iconic places in Boise the North End almost always makes it to the top of the list. Nestled just north of the downtown area, the North End serves as the gateway to the foothills.

The heart of the North End is Harrison Boulevard. Built in the early part of the 20th century, Harrison Boulevard was home to many prominent citizens and named after President Benjamin Harrison who signed the Admissions Act, making Idaho a state in 1890.

One of the most unique features of the North End is the collection of different architectural styles for both residences and the business district. Harrison Boulevard in particular is home to some of the most beautiful homes in the valley.

Although the area has undergone several periods of growth and decline it is undeniably a place of historical and natural beauty. Named to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, fully matured trees and gardens populate the neighborhoods. For bikers and hikers there is an almost endless supply of trails weaving their way throughout the foothills.

Families can find fun in the many public parks such as Camel’s Back Park or Elm Grove Park. For food, drinks, and social activities Hyde Park boasts of many restaurants, coffee shops, and more. The recent development of Esther Simplot Park along the Boise River is a very popular attraction which features a whitewater park, paddle boarding, fishing, hiking, and a summer event series.

Overall, the area and its residents are a bit more casual in their approach to life and love good food, good company, and the beautiful Idaho outdoors. With an emphasis on livability and sustainability, North End residents are intensely loyal to the area and the way of life.

Let's find you a home.
